Perform Area Planning via Location Overview
Goal
View and maintain area planning per Location as well as its corresponding Sections and Subsections with the help of a graphical planning tool.
Procedure
The graphical planning can be performed via the Location Overview page.
Header - selection criteria
The area occupancy is displayed per Location. However, further selection criteria can be applied, as described below.
Note: Jobs can be moved or re-planned from one Location, Section or Subsection to another but not in time. This implies that they cannot be shifted from one period to another.
Option | Remarks |
---|---|
Location | Mandatory. A Location can be selected from the drop-down list. |
Date | Mandatory. The start date of the view can be specified using the calendar. |
Arrowhead buttons | It is possible to navigate forward and backward a week at a time. |
View selection | Mandatory. Two options are available, namely Timeline or Area. This change the display accordingly. Both these views are explained below. |
Filter | Optional. Filters can be applied with a Position Code or Area. Both provide drop-down lists to choose from. This applies to all the filter icons elsewhere on the page. |
Timeline
The timeline covers a span of six weeks. Each weekly period, displayed in a column, is seven days long, starting from Monday to Sunday.
Every Section of a Location is presented separately in a matrix where the timeline is shown horizontally, and the lowest so-called Positions (Section, Subsections, etc.) are displayed vertically. The allocated area within the matrix would be displayed in colors. The colors are retrieved from the Genus via the Job in question.
Note: Red arrowheads would appear if the maximum capacity of a Position is exceeded.
The (right) pane
The pane on the right is divided into three parts, namely Not Allocated, Allocated, and Details, as explained below. Each of these can be collapsed or expanded. When collapsed, they would display the number of hidden records within parenthesis.
When the Not Allocated or the Allocated parts are expanded, the same Job number may appear multiple times. Each of these records represents a so-called Job Area Line, denoting the area planning of a specific Phase of a Job.
Not Allocated and Allocated
Jobs that are not planned at the lowest level would be shown in the Not Allocated part, and those that are would be shown in the Allocated part.
Example 1: Say a Location is divided into Sections and no further.
- Jobs planned at the Location level are displayed as Not Allocated.
- Jobs planned at the Section level are displayed as Allocated.
Example 2: Say a Location is divided into Sections and Subsections.
- Jobs planned at the Location level are displayed as Not Allocated.
- Jobs planned at the Section level are also displayed as Not Allocated.
- Jobs planned at the Subsection level are displayed as Allocated.
